| Why I'm Here |
I am coming up on 1.5 years playing. I feel I should be a lot further along then where I am at. But, I am told that if I did not receive the gift to be a guitar prodigy, then I am right where I am suppose to be. Where ever that may be. A lot of the times if feels like I am not making progress. That may be because I am all over the board and missing structure. I do meet with an instructor every two weeks, but because I am his first student there is really no structure there. I have been a member bouncing around from website to website (Jamplay, YGS..) but just seem to find a structure I am looking for. Both great website, but just not for me. Then I watched one of Tony’s Live Webcast” and the weekly/daily challenges and practice sessions sounded great.

The guitar has become my good friend. I enjoy the time with the guitar, very challenging (which I like challenges), very rewarding when you get over those many learning hurdles and just the sound that this instrument is capable of producing is just amazing. Especially, finger picking.  My time with the guitar is my solitude, my zone, my relax time, something to focus 101% on and not think about life. I want play so bad that I can taste it in a weird way. I do realize the great guitar masters out there have invested many, many many hours into practice to get to where they are at. Knowing that keeps me pushing through those times where I feel like I am not progressing.
