    Yes I don’t think it will be a problem if you use your pinky if you just can’t make that reach. My problem is that I believe the chord diagrams (with fingering) are usually set up to make transition to other chords easier, but if reach is just to torturous for you then use what is ever most comfortable. I would suggest however that when you pick one you stick with it. I believe part of successful chord transitions and fingering are based on muscle memory and if you flip flop between various fingering for the same chord you will lose that. Difficult chords for me are when you need to place 3 fingers on the same fret on consecutive strings.

    I have been doing that but the problem becomes the “most comfortable” fingering doesn’t always match up with the fingering suggested in chord diagrams where the fingering is given
