Beautiful. Clean, clear, consistent picking and heartfelt vocals. You are an inspiration to me as I conclude my first year in TAC. Can you tell me how long you’ve been playing and in TAC? Keep up the fine work.

It’s great that you are playing with others. What is VOM and what does VwA stand for? Obviously, I’m a newbie. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this. Inspiration!!

Fantastic! I enjoyed the whole thing, but was especially grabbed right from your intro. Your knowledge and use of the scale all along the fretboard is a great goal for me to shoot for one day. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful! Never felt rushed. Nice use of the whole scale. Thanks for sharing it.

Beautiful! The notes are so clean. Thanks for sharing it.

Beautiful! I am just starting to view the videos that TAC members have posted. They are very motivational and simply enjoyable to watch and listen to. Thanks for sharing. I’m sure you will enjoy the new music room.

Sounds great. It’s inspiring to me, a relatively newbie. Looking forward to starting with the daily challenges. Thanks for sharing your music!

Love your rendition of this great song. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds great. Each note was so clear. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, again, everyone. It’s been a couple of weeks now, and I think I’ll be using the pinky to anchor to the sound board much but not all of the time. I just finished the 5-day routine challenge, and I found myself varying my approach depending what I was learning. I expect that will be the case going forward.

Great input! Thanks, everyone. I think I will try to avoid constant pinky contact, but occasionally it might be what I need. I took a look at the flat picking course, and Tony addresses this question in one of the early lessons. Like many if you, he said it can be a personal preference. However, if it gets in the way of what I want to accomplish, I may need to change up what I’m doing. Again, thanks for the quick feedback!

“Wildwood Flower” was most recommended. Here is a nice video of Molly Tuttle demonstrating it, with an associated tab sheet. https://youtu.be/sHT4HibXPeA. I’m working on both of those and “Billy in the Lowground”. Slow and steady, but I’m seeing improvement. 🙂
Thanks to everyone for their ideas!

Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom. This journey is so inspiring, because it challenges me in so many ways: Dexterity, rhythm, music/mathematical patterns and relationships, timing, memorization (which isn’t a bad thing when you get into your 60’s), physics, the art and beauty of guitars. You and so many others joyfully share and help others in this journey. I look forward to being able to do the same. Until then, it’s time for another FW 2.0 lesson! 🙂

Love this reply! I think think I’m the ‘gotta know the notes and theory’ guy, but I’m going to try to stay out of those weeds. I’m into week 2 of FW 2.0 and finding that, other than for the chord matrix, I haven’t had to memorize individual notes yet. Still feel like I need to, but I want to try to let the music take me there first. 🙂
