Why I'm Here

I’m probably one of the older guys on here and have been playing guitar on and off for around 40 years. I spent a lot of years playing bass with various bands on the London pub and club circuit in the 70’s and 80’s but apart from a recent ‘getting the band back together’ for a one off, my playing is pretty much limited to my apartment. I’ve still got my Aria electric bass, a 1990’s Strat and I have a lovely 39 year old Takamine F360 that was one of the law suite models that Martin got a bit upset about. I have a Taylor GS Mini Mahogany which I love and I added a beautiful little Martin Custom 015M to my collection a few months ago. The ukulele hasn’t had a look in since then.

Although I always have a guitar or 2 on a stand in my lounge I just felt like I have been playing the same old stuff for too long. I really like the daily challenge on TAC and look forward to getting on there every day to see what's next. I am particularly keen to improve my finger picking as it's been pretty much all flat picking for me so far.
