| Why I'm Here |
A few years back my wife and I were at the Foo Fighters Cal Jam show in California. Towards the end of the show, Dave Grohl said something to the extent of: if you love music, go home and start a band in your garage. Go play music for the fun of music. My wife said, hey, let’s go get a couple of acoustic guitars and learn how to play! Plus, it would be fun with the RV’ing and campfires. I had played piano/keys in my earlier life and had always wanted to learn guitar so I said, sure, why not! Sounds fun!
We got a couple of Yamaha acoustic guitars and started hitting up youtube. Due to the wonder of target marketing (our company specializes in Adobe Experience Platform, so this is an area near and dear to us) we were targeted with many guitar playing courses. TAC kept coming up and I was more interested in electric guitar – but my wife loves acoustic guitar and finger-picking. I had always thought finger-picking was some advanced, voodoo sh*t. But, there was a free-week of TAC (or something like that) and that week happened to start with the backward roll finger picking. I loved it!
We signed up for TAC and made our way to the Acoustic Life Festival in Bozeman and had a blast. If that wasn’t enough – the particular way in which Tony teaches/explains stuff works REALLY well for me (and I have A.D.D.).
