| Why I'm Here |
I got my first guitar when I was 11 years old. it cost about $12 in Nuevo Laredo , Mexico in 1984 and it fretted like a barbed wire fence. I fell in love with playing (even though it hurt) and like most teenagers in the ’80’s quickly turned to distorted electric guitars, long hair and Metallica riffs. I didn’t get to play much after high school, too busy trying to make my mark. I returned to my roots of country music, bluegrass and the acoustic guitar in my 30’s and never looked back. Im now in my forties. My daily player is a D28. I also have several Taylor’s and a Gibson ES335 for those “glory day” moments when i just have to plug in, hit the pedal and let it rip. I get together with a great group of guys and pick most Thursdays and my family vacation is usually planned around Merlefest in North Carolina. If you’ve never been check it out, its a pickers paradise.
