My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

My guitar goal for the next three months is to establish a routine of practicing and sticking with it, learning steadily the basics in strumming, fretting, picking and eventually playing tunes in a way that is pleasant and interesting to the ear.

I lead a singing group called The GraceTones and we perform at area nursing homes. I’d been playing guitar my way (strumming down up down up down up) for practically every song and I got tired of hearing the same strumming sound. So I put my guitar away for several months and started using music tracks exclusively. Then a member of the group said he missed singing along with the guitar so I thought I’d give TAC another try. I started TAC back in 2020 but was not committed. This time around I want to stick with the learning so that I will, in time, hear a different and interesting way of playing my guitar, so that I’ll enjoy playing for myself and others.

My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

In a perfect week, I’ll play 5 times, after my breakfast and watching the news. I’ll play at the dining room table with a foot rest and guitar stand with the guitar resting there until I pick it up each morning to play.
