My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

I play every single day. The only days I’ve missed have been when my daughter has had health issues and needed my help. I play mostly in my living room but have my old Yamaha laminate in a stand by my bed and can play it any time. I always keep a guitar in my office, too. I practice my TAC daily challenge first, work on stuff for my lessons, and then work on songs–often fingerpicking songs–until I feel comfortable playing them for others.

My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

For the next three months, I want to work on technique and knowledge and understanding of the fretboard. I want to become much more proficient and, if possible, faster, at fretting and playing individual notes. I want to become comfortable playing a note anywhere on the fretboard. I want to begin to understand the fretboard better–to become more comfortable with triads and scales, so that I can make progress toward being able to improvise as well as imitate.
