I realize internet isn’t reliable info but recently I was curious.
I found a little post that indicated beginner guitar player category requires around 635 hours of practice to enter intermediate. At my rate it would require around 2 1/2 years. I think 635 hours seems reasonable as there is so much to learn.
I’ve also read many times to break up the sessions: if you only have an hour a day, try to split it up a bit during that 24 hours.

I had a table top metronome years ago. I disliked it as the sound and beat was tedious and distracting. I now use an app for a metronome, it’s simply called Metronome. I can change the tone of the first beat to something other than a click (I choose a drum beat or cymbal depending on my mood.)
The change in the first measure count sound helps me figure out when I’m in time or it I’ve drifted. It’s not as tedious either.
Many apps are available. Someday I might look into a digital table top but for now (7 months into proactive sessions) the free app doesn’t bother me at all and so far no ads interrupt the syncopation.

Shoot!
I found the exercise.
There the whole time, I’d forgotten as it did not seem so important initially.
The Pinky exercise is in the TAC Beginner course!<div>Back to the drawing board for me, daily.
Thank you Tony!
