    <div>Hey @Milt and @Dirk_R </div>

I’m pretty sure you’ve seen this post before:

    https://tonypolecastro.com/family-forums/topic/virtual-open-mic-announcement-please-read-if-you-attend-the-voms-5/

You’ll need to get used to going to the blogs that are linked inside the post so that you can get the latest news and up to date Zoom links for the next VOM.

Answering your question Milt, yes there is a VOM on Sunday, April 11. Go to the Sunday VwA blog (linked inside the post above) to get the Zoom link. It starts at 2pm Eastern Time, and of course you can log in a half hour early for socializing and sound checks.

Please refer to the blogs each week for news and updates on themes and Zoom links, etc.

  • Bump 🙂

  • For everyone’s conveniences, I’ve worked with the other VOM blog designers and now each VOM blog contains links to the other VOM blogs so you can have quick access to jump around among our blogs and get the latest updates from each VOM. Look for those links in the sidebars of our blogs.

  • For you early risers, I’m happy to announce that Dennis G’s Kitchen Sessions now has a blog too. Find out the latest info from Dennis and the link to log in to his VOM here:

Simply wonderful @Carol-3M-Stillhand . A great tribute to TAC on her (or is it his) birthday. I’ve always considered you one of the best fingerstylists here in TAC and this performance is just more evidence of that notion. Awesome.

  • Trying my best to keep this post close to the top.

If you enjoy the Virtual Open Mics, I humbly ask that you go to the four blogs at the top of this thread and bookmark them in your favorite browser for easy reference, or subscribe to the blogs so that you can get an email when we post for the upcoming VOM. We may not be posting these links in the forums long term and we’d hate for you to miss out.

If you’ve not gone to any of our VOMs, please visit any one of them just to check it out. Please introduce yourself and just say a quick hello. You do not have to perform in order to attend. We welcome all TAC members to our VOMs.

  • Hi @darcelle , it’s a great first step to simply attend. Attendance does not require you to play. We may ask if you’d like to play, but you can easily decline and we won’t prod you further than that.

Hopefully what you’ll discover by attending is that we display all levels of playing ability and the feedback is non-judgemental and super supportive. If support is all you can muster at this time, that is perfectly acceptable, however if you should gather enough courage to play for us, it can be life-changing, as others have attested to.

If for nothing else, just know that you are welcome to attend any of our VOMs.

  • Hey @BethL , @Jim_Krozz should be sending you a link in the next day or so.

  • Hi @Marquita . A lot has happened since we originally posted this conversation. At the VOMs we will continue to encourage performers to post their videos here in the Play for Us forum. This is in line with what TAC wishes to see in this forum. Only the information on how to find our VOMs is going offsite and I’m hoping that the VOMs can be found through word of mouth and through the two posts that are currently in the Play for Us forum….this post and the one that is pinned.

Hi Milt, Thanks for your comment. I’d like to clarify something that you mentioned which I hope is not a common misconception among our audience. The VOMs are not going away and TAC isn’t doing away with them. The VOMs were member-initiated and was run independently from TAC so the VOMs were never really TAC’s to do away with. As we should be able to tell, TAC is becoming more focused in individual guitar journeys, and the new forum format reflects that. The VOM news that we were posting in the old forum doesn’t quite fit in with the new forum format and that’s why we started all of our blogs. Levi and I have been conversing the past two months and he informed me courteously of the direction that TAC was heading. Thus, I researched new communication options and I introduced the blog format to all of our VOMs.

The new blogging platform provides a few features that the TAC platform can’t offer. Number one is that all of the VOM participants can subscribe to the blogs of their choices to get updates via email for that VOM, for example theme news, new Zoom links, and just VOM news in general will arrive in you email Inbox. We’ve tried to structure each of the VOMs as if our participants were going to a different venue each time they logged in, and thus, each venue may have a variety of different news and information, and incidentally, their own “house operations”. We’re essentially simulating the real world, but instead of you going to various venues, various venues are coming to you.

Considering that each “venue” has different ways of doing things, the Friday Night VOM does not need participant email addresses (at least not at this time, but other VOMs may request it). Instead, for FNL, you can follow or subscribe to the FNL VOM blog and get updates via email, or you can simply navigate to the FNL blog to find out the latest news and Zoom links to our next VOM. The other VOMs may request you for your email address so check with them if that is the case. As for getting all of the FNL performers their links to their recordings, we will continue to use the TAC messaging system and we are using the pinned post in the Play for Us forum as a directory of sorts to find performer profiles to send messages. Again, speaking for FNL, we are actively discussing how we can do recordings differently, so stay tuned for that news which should be announced soon.

Lastly, I’ll say that the VOMs will continue to happen as long as there is demand and so far, we are seeing plenty of demand, so fret not (pun intended).

Sorry for being wordy in my reply, but hopefully I’ve answered your questions. Thanks.

<div>Hi @Mike.S , you may have missed the previous post. The new TAC forum doesn’t allow me to edit my original post so I can’t update it for the kitchen sessions, however here is Dennis’ post for your convenience.</div>

  • Thanks so much Don. It so great to see you and Jo at the VOMs. I’m looking forward to seeing you both play one day. It would be a treat for all of us. 👍
