The more I think about it, the more I dislike the “complete“-button.
I´d like to have the buttons name changed into “practiced“.

Hello @JoeT,
one more thing: don´t worry about Barre Chords as a beginner. They are very, very difficult chords. Just think of someone who just got his/her driving licence: that person would probably just drive around his/her hometown at not try to participate in the rallye Paris-Dakar😉 . Learn the other simpler basic chords first (skill course “30 Day Challenge”). That will train your finger flexibilitiy. Later on try Barre Chords including not all strings at first (skill course “Your next six chords”) and move on to more complex Barre Chords later on. It takes time and patience. The guitar is one of the most complicatest instruments to learn.
And if there is a Daily Challenge including Barre Chords and you feel overwhelmed just try a very small piece of the Challenge, for example today (KC7 Mixed Key of B) choose the E-Chord and practice it for 10 minutes. That is not cheating. It´s adjusting the Challenge to your learning level.
Good luck!
(Sorry for my English. I´m from Germany…)

Hello @JoeT,
in case you haven´t done it yet: please read the TAC quick start guide and do the Skill Courses “30 Days to play” and “5 Day guitar routine Challenge”. There i a lot of valuable information how the TAC method works and how to adjust the Daily Challenges to your learning level.
And please don´t be so hard to yourself😉. In my opinion playing more hours doesn´t always automatically lead to more progress – sometimes it can even slow you down, if you get overwhelmed, frustrated or unconcentrated.
Lookout for your small daily wins and trust the process🌞.

Hello @albert-d,
that was definitly a HUGE win! And I totally agree with you: not every vacation is slowing your guitar journey down. Quite often it is the opposite: you´ ve more time to play guitar 🙂.

MemberJune 19, 2022 at 12:55 am in reply to: It’s here!….but no it’s not.(kinda long winded post)Congratulations! The strings are a good choice for the HD28. And if your tendon problems continue – which I don´t hope for sure – try the santa cruz LOW tension strings.
These strings were recommended to me when my Martin Dreadnought had a professional set up. And I was quite surprised. Those strings are even more easy to play and the sound of the guitar changes. So it is a question of ones sound preference as well.
Enjoy your guitar! The sunburst options look so great. I´m looking forward to see a picure.

One more aspect: the guitar easiest to play is not automatically the best guitar on ones guitar journey 🙂.

Just wait until Tony has counted down to three or one😉.

@joemama
LOW tension wasn´t the original idea for the guitar. The dreadnought was given to a professional to check it through and to put on some mid tension strings. But the professional mentioned that he played his 1972 D-28 with low tension strings and strongly recommended them…

@Joemama I had the chance to try out two identical Martins Dreadnoughts. Same model, same woods, same everything – except one was 2013 and the other was 2014 produced and a little less played. The 2013 had Santa Cruz low tension strings, the 2014 had Martin strings.
The playability of the 2013 was much better. I had expected a difference, but not such a big difference. But what surprised me even more was the difference in sound.
I like the Martin sound better, but the playability of the Santa Cruz strings is more important to me. So I decided to use up all Martin string sets I already own – but afterwards it will be Santa Cruz strings only.

Actually I can understand the TAC Team. As far as I know, TAC is a private owned profit orientated business. And I guess no business owner likes it, when someone suggests / mentions other competing businesses on “their premises”.
I found it very generous, that TAC tolerated occasional posts mentioning other forums and teachers. But it was getting more in the last weeks, even linked videos were posted.
To me it seems to be fair compromise, to talk about the competion almost exclusivly using personal messages.

Hello @Skyman,
Tony recommends to take the “5 Day Guitar Routine Challenge” course in the skill section before starting do do the Daily Challenges. I pretty sure after you´ve finished the “5 Day Guitar Routine Challenge” – which won´t take very long – you will enjoy doing the Daily Challenges.
-
Happened to me several times. Now I always mark the text and click “copy” before posting. If the text disappears , I won´t have to write the whole text again 😉.
-
The “5 Day Guitar Routine Challenge” is the recommended next step by Tony.
Enjoy!

It is even possible to contact the support team and ask them to reset a course, for example “30 Days to play”. The course is shown as completly undone and you can enjoy marking the single lessons “completed” again.
But please consider this only if you have completed just a few courses. Because there is a catch: when the TAC-Team tries to reset just one (1) specific course for you, it might happen, that ALL your completed LESSONS of ALL courses are set back to “uncompleted” – although all completed COURSES are still shown as “completed” in the OVERVIEW of “Skill Courses”.
And until you have marked all single lessons of the completed courses as completed again, sorting the Skill courses with “my progress” doesn´t work.

Hello @Warren C,
if I were you, I would give low tension strings a try. And I would ALWAYS start my first playing session of the day watching the skill course “Daily warm up for guitarists”, lesson “fingers and hand”” starting at app. 1:40 min and doing the warm up along with Tony. It takes app. 4 minutes. Warmed up fingers can move and press down the strings much more gently. And that leads to less oder later hurt.
Good luck and greetings from Germany!
