My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

Finger Style Focus

  • Complete finger style and hybrid classes
  • Learn three finger style songs
  • Post a song on the TAC forum or perform at a TAC zoom open mic.  Both of these are way out of my comfort zone!
  • Complete a supplemental finger style program which I own

I am confident that these goals will result in my becoming a better finger style guitar player!

My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

I play my guitar Monday through Saturday.  I use Sunday to rest my hands.  Although I play periodically throughout the day, I am committed to play in the morning after a few cups of coffee.  I keep my guitar in a room in the front of the house, which is also where I practice.  In the evenings, I occasionally  pour a scotch and play outside at the entryway.  The mornings are focused on warm up exercises, my daily TAC exercise and learning/practicing new skills.  When I am able to play in the afternoon or evening I focus on learning and playing songs.  Breaking my day up this way has worked out well.

Why I'm Here

I joined TAC several years ago to begin a journey of continuous improvement in my guitar skills.  I continue to enjoy both the opportunity to learn from the daily exercises, the curriculum of supplemental courses and the amazing TAC community.  This experience has definitely enriched my life.

My greatest struggle with learning to play guitar has been consistently practicing.  Each year at TAC has seen improvement in my consistency.  But when I hit a plateau or guitar rut it can still be a challenge.  I am committed to powering through those moments.
