Why I'm Here

I started playing guitar (electric) around 1972.  Had a few lessons and was playing simple blues.  The lessons stopped, interest wained, you know the story.  But as the years rolled on, I would still pick it up once in a while and play some chords and listen to the sounds I could make with it.

I picked up an acoustic for the first time in the spring of 2020 and started taking lessons. Then the Covid lockdown came and the lessons stoped. I had to find something to keep my guitar learning momentum going, and that’s when I found TAC.

My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

My guitar goals are to improve 1)chord transitions, 2)flat picking techniques 3)improvisational skills 4)finger picking techniques and 5)work on overall speed and timing.

My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

In the perfect week, I’ll play at least once every day.

I usually start every week day with the “Daily Challenge” when I wake up.  After completing the challenge, I work on other skills such as licks or chord transitions, scales and new songs.  On the weekends I still pick up my guitar first thing and go over some of the challenges from earlier in the week.  I also play the songs that my wife likes to hear.

I always practice in my den/office, but I also like to walk around the house so I can play in different rooms – especially when singing songs.
