Hi @CamiB
have you tried to just play triads only, especially good on the electric, or some voicing called Shell voicing. These chords add lots of colours to the music you want to play.
i’m including some explanatory videos, if this forum allows

Hey Loraine,
so sorry about your hand/wrist trauma, it looks seriously tricky to mend! I hope that in time you will get back to a near enough full function of movements
Sorry i’ve not been visiting the forum for quite some time
All my best wishes and quick recovery from your surgery

I think you’ll be the one to start the benchmark video movement my friend! 😉 Fantastic!

Hey BytorR40
I agree with the others, keep guitar playing fun and kick frustration in the backside 😉 the lessons come back round often. You could even bookmark them in your favourite folder, so whenever you want to revisit a lesson you’ve missed it will be there for you, so no sweat!

Well it’s quite unfortunate that you dislike the blues, because it’s on TAC quite regularly. Probably because apart from classical music, it’s at the root of most of the music we hear today. A lot of it is derived from it and that’s probably why Tony focuses on giving us the basic techniques from the blues…
On the bright side, you might get an acquired taste for it 😀 Before i joined TAC i strongly disliked bluegrass and traditional country music, but this has dramatically changed my perceptions and tastes, to a more ecclectic array i should say.
My advice is to take it all in your stride, and there are some really gold nuggets to be taken from it, enjoy 😉

Hi Barbara,
yes i’ve noticed that the lessons are repeating quite often nowadays… not sure if TAC is planning to add a new batch soon, as i am not seeing the older lessons that were on here anymore.
You are welcome to visit my bookmarked favourite lessons, as you will see a few pages (24 of them) of older lessons still available from my list. You can click on them, and favourite them if you like, so you will have a list to get back to when you feel like doing something different

great replies from fellow TAC members here.
Also, try to include warmups in your daily practice, really, really essential to improve your technique. There are numerous exercises you can do, including the good old spider walk exercise. Lauren has some great examples on her channel, here is one…
also a here useful tips to improve finger placements

another video with useful info… visuals sometimes work better

Hi Loraine!
sorry i’ve not been very active, and also avoiding using computers altogether
Best wishes for the new year! I hope your hand is mending nicely

you’re welcome Barbara. I am glad the list can benefit you, and others looking for something new to play 🙂

you’re welcome. Some good nuggets in his videos

i don’t think he does the purely pentatonic patterns, probably because it’s covered millions of times on the internet. Do you have the Fretboard Wizard course? he talks about finding the root notes and keys to songs and the CAGED system that you might find useful. Otherwise, check YouTube, there are plenty of videos covering the various pentatonic shapes, Which are mostly variations of the basic shape I sent you a video of. Once you understand that concept, pentatonic scales will have no secrets for you 😉
