First TACiversary already
That sure went by fast! I began the year with knowledge of music theory but was brand new to guitar; everything about it felt foreign. By mid-summer a local jam group welcomed me to join and the times we spent strumming outdoors definitely gave a boost to my confidence and skill development. I can say it was a shock and a wonderful surprise to be highlighted on a monthly workshop early on and later in the Acoustic Tuesday Holler. The learning levels set out by TAC have really been my guide over the year. I’ve been faithful to setting aside 10 minutes a day for skill development followed by learning new pieces from the song vault (now discontinued) and committing pieces to memory. There are so many things I plan to tackle this year. I really really want to figure out soloing, to sing with confidence while I play (no need for a perfect voice, right) and to find more ways to play and learn with others. I have come to believe that learning guitar will have a benefit similar to learning a new language and will reap rewards for my ageing brain:)
