A couple of quick takes on this track. As quite a few others have commented the backward roll and drone string didn’t make for a natural fit to my ear so I played around the D major scale on the G and D strings. There are two takes here, done back to back, and the odd bum note here and there, but never mind. Which take do you prefer 1 or 2 and why? Let me know.

Also, a #smallwin, this was the first improv. I’ve posted in at least two months.

Hi @DavidScoggins , both were nice👍👏👏👍, but I preferred the second take because it sounded like it had direction – like you were playing with purpose and knew where you were going with it🤩. The first take sounded like you were wandering, not really sure where you wanted it to go😮 IMHO.

Cheers for listening and commenting @Bill_Brown. I think you hit the nail on the head, the first take in particular meanders and lacks direction, which is quite a common feature of my improv. playing at the moment.

Very well done @DavidScoggins 👏 Both were very nice but if I had to choose the second one flowed a little better overall. However the first had some gems in it too. Thanks for sharing

Thanks @Lange22. Yeah, the consensus seems to be in favour of the second take.

    Nice ones both, @DavidScoggins
I also prefer the second – it is like your musical ideas have crystalized in this one 👏
