Building my Chord Catalogue
Posted by OhWowMan on December 9, 2021 at 6:29 pmI have completed the Next 6 Chords course. With what I learned in the 30-day course, I now know 13 chords — G, Am, C, D, Em, A, E, Dm, F-mini, F Barre, Fm, B Barre, and Bm. I haven’t mastered them all… But, I’m making definite progress! That’s a win for me! 😃

☺Thank you @Loraine @David_Leo Can either of you direct me to a good source of songs for beginners? As far as I know, the TAC website doesn’t have a music library… not that I’ve found, anyhow. Suggestions or recommendations on where I can find a few songs to play with the chords I’ve learned?

@OhWowMan Some good sites for beginner song lessons are https://www.justinguitar.com/ and https://www.andyguitar.co.uk/;

What kind of music are you into? I usually find tutorials for songs i like on youtube

Folk, Country, Rock…I’m into a lot of stuff from the 70’s — like John Prine, Neil Young, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, and such. Last few years I’ve started to get into Americana and Bluegrass. I’ve become a Billy Strings fan, but I’m not anywhere near ready for flatpicking! I’d like to start out strumming a few simple songs and then work my way into some other stuff 😊

You can usually find individual songs online with lyrics and chords and often with tabs. There are also you tube videos “how to play _______” .

Well if you aren’t a master, you are at least a chord journeyman. You can play so many song with those chords. Keep having fun and congrats.
