Hi @Salty , I like the photos that you posted, 2 Martins and a Taylor. The wood grain on the Taylor looks sweet in my opinion, is this a 224 model ($1699 + PA sales tax)? So the top is solid Koa – and looks awesome, but the back and sides are “layered” Koa (not solid wood). You should do some research on exactly what the “layers” consist of, I think you’ll be surprised and maybe disappointed. The Martin’s on the other hand are solid tone woods, top-back-sides, not layered (at least the models you’ve posted) and made in the US (and your home state). Don’t get me wrong, Taylor’s are very nice guitars, but I believe you’ll get more bang for your bucks with a solid wood Martin. Best of luck with your decision!
