  • 30 Day Challenge & Daily Challenge

Posted by Gunner on February 10, 2022 at 5:05 pm

Hello. I’m taking the 30-day challenge. Week 1 Blues instructions indicate that I should first learn the songs, and then spend at least 10 minutes per day in week 1 playing through the songs. Are the songs you’re referring to located in the Skills Course 12 Bar Blues? If not, where do I find them? Also is it recommended that I also do the daily challenge each day?

    Thanks!

    Hi Gunner,

It is just those three things listed in that section – Fret with the Blues Shuffle, Pick direction with the Blues Baseline and learn the Blues Boggie. With each lesson you will see “Learn” at the bottom of the screen box, and you can play the lesson, then go to “Play” and you can play along with Tony at various speeds. The speed control is on the lower RH corner of the screen – it will be set to 1x – you can change it up or down. Beneath the screen on the RH side there is also a TAB where you can get the tablature and musical score for the piece if that is helpful for you.

I have finished the 30 days to play and am now “thinking” about trying the daily challenge – I find them difficult, but I didn’t find the resource material which you can get if you click the START CHALLENGE button! At least look at them maybe?

    Hope this helps!

Solitaire, yes it does help, thanks very much. Was not aware I could change the speed, etc.. Hope you have continued success.

Hi @solitaire , and welcome to the TAC community! Yes, the songs referred to are just the lessons taught in the 30 days to play.

As for the daily challenge, it is up to you whether you do them simultaneously with the 30 days to play. When I started, I was completely new to guitar and I focused solely on the 30 days to play, and afterward the Next Six chords, and then I began the daily challenges. That was pretty much all I could handle at the time. Some weeks are easier than others, but then again if it weren’t a challenge we’d all become bored and move on to something else.

Have fun with the 30 days to play course!!

I’m in the first week of the 30 day challenge and enjoying it. However I didn’t see any of the things Solitaire referred to about speed or tabs. I’ve just been watching the video, pausing, watching again, pausing…. you get the picture. I’ll have to look again.

I tried the daily challenge, the challenge won… My fingers won’t even do the simple “cheat” Tony showed. Maybe they’ll be another 30 day challenge I can do.
