Not quite sure what my renaissance period is or means, but I’ll take that as a good thing. Thanks @Marisa

That was remarkably steady rhythm you managed to keep going there as well as singing – congrats!

Nice job! Steady, and nice touch on the up stroke. I could hear the high strings chime in as Tony often has us do in the daily.

Nice strumming @Loraine . I also was very intrigued by your upstroke and the way it made the high strings ring out. Your tempo was very consistent as well. Thank you for sharing!

Really appreciate your feedback @kitman. I probably am using too heavy a hand when I’m strumming my upstroke and it’s catching on the high string(s). I’ll have to resister to it to see if I hear what you’re hearing. Is it a bad thing to have the high string ring out?

I know you asked Kitman, but in my opinion the chime of the high strings on the upstroke can add to it in my opinion.
In some of the challenges we do, when we do a down/up stroke for 1/8 notes, Tony often
says not to play the whole chord on the upstroke, just catch
the bottom strings. It’s a technique to use.

It is not a bad thing at all from my point of view @Loraine . I thought it fit the song well!

    Loraine-

Good stuff, right there. Thanks for sharing.

For me– whenever I try singing along while playing, it is a total disaster🙃!- so I — REALLY– admire what you have done, for sure. Even if I pick out an easy 3-chord tune that I can play in my sleep—– when I try to add singing……… fugggedddabbbouttit.

I have the same thoughts as you maybe about the high E and maybe B ringing out too “loudly” on the upstroke- (my “Dream a Little Dream” video is an example of me doing that). When I do it, it just “seems” too loud and twangy. I’m trying to “temper” that down quite a bit. Seems to sound better when I can do it- but it is then a consistency issue.

Keep goin’! Your posts and advice inspire (not only) me tremendously👍…. MANY others, too.

I love that old song, Loraine, and I thought your phrasing worked very well in it. Thanks for posting!

Great job! @Loraine I really enjoyed that! Just curious as to why you chose that fret for the capo? Nothing wrong at all Just a curiosity….

Hey @BethL Glad you enjoyed it. That was the capo position that was called for in the book I got it from. I’m sure it was from transposing from more difficult chords.

@Loraine that makes sense! I think that spot may be too low for your vocal range…Try moving it up a couple or wherever seems the sweet spot!

      I’ll try that @BethL . Thanks!
