Go back to the last spot……
There’s an old thing that my wife and I do when we’re walkin’ around- maybe shopping, or whatever– anyway– on foot… (think huge WalMart, HomeDepot, or Costco store- whatever).
This involves “losing one another” somehow, when one of us wanders off away from the other. By the way– it’s usually me……… Squirrel! 😜
Anyway, we have always had a “plan” that when this happens/happened– we would go back to the last spot we were together.
How does this all matter here in TAC, you ask?…… (or not)…..
I have been in the dumps here lately. Missed 5 days- and when I got back, I found that the lessons I missed were really hard lessons for me- and catching-up has been difficult for sure. Like a “swirlin’ turd”, it just dragged me down guitar-wise. It was a tough few days- as tough as I’ve seen since joining TAC ~20 months ago.
So, back to my silly story at the start of this post……
This is what I did. I went “back” to the last spot I was at where we got “separated”.
Got back to basics— back to guitar-things I was “good at”—- good stretching and warmup, a few of my old favorite Daily Lessons from the past, a good shot of chord-group stuff, and some good old chord TABs and even some of my own music I’m working on.
Again– back to the spot where we/I got “separated”.
Been a few days back in my comfort zone so to speak– and it has had the effect of re-charging my guitar-energy-battery. Now feelin’ like I’m ready to go back into the “fun and creativity mode(s)”.
Sorry about my ramblings-on– (again)😏, but I thought my own experience may help someone else along the way in case they have a hard time trying to get back “out” of the bummed-out doldrums.
