12-string Beauty and History- “California Blue”
It is now September 2022, and i acquired my first (and hopefully temporarily missing) 12-string in September 1972. I have loved the sound and emotion since, although then, it was there for one purpose, and now another that is causing my repertoire and skill to grow.
Thus, as the 50th anniversary of my love of the 12 is moving on, I am now playing songs that bring out the best, and are deemed the best of all 12-string songs. (I have a list, and if you want it, let me know, I will pass it on to you.)
For the SNL VOM, I offered one, and oh if only I had the voice to go with it. Roy Orbison’s “California Blue” redone for this posting as what I did Saturday did not have my 12 ready to go, so, this is better.
(Although this was recorded in 1988, it was written by Orbison, Jeff Lynn and Tom Petty. [See for reference Travelling Willburys])
TAC is helping me gain on my love of both the music and the instrument. Thank you one and all.
