    When playing with an amp, and your guitar is plugged into it, and you have the ability to have a mic aimed towards the sound hole (with a dual input amp). Do you use both the guitar plugged into the amp in addition to the mic at the sound hole or is it one or the other?

    Sorry @JoeT I don’t have any experience here and will be keen to find out what our fellow TACers have to say.

    Hey @JoeT ;

    If you can think of it, someone has done it. Many people simply plug it in or mic it. But it is not uncommon to do both, and the ones who do that even have a reason for doing it. Whatever works; whatever sounds good. That’s the rule. 😎

    Thanks guys, I will experiment both ways. I guessing if you’re going to sing at the same time one input would be for the guitar and one for the singing mic, and if it’s a non electric acoustic you’d need two mics one for the sound hole and one for singing. Double amplifying the guitar to me would not make for a “clean” sound, but I will try it eventually.

    Thanks again.
