Hi @drdavid and welcome to TAC. I agree with @Bill_Brown and @GerryB56 and would suggest utilizing the tabs as learning tools. I am a “play by ear” player myself and these tabs have helped me with understanding of how eighth notes and triplets fit into the tempo and time signatures of the challenges. In fact these days I listen to and watch the challenge lesson and playback and then pull out the tab and run through the challenges with just the tab and a metronome. I then go back to the lessons and play throughs to marry the two up. Just sharing my experience.
