First try at open G
Posted by DM1982 on October 19, 2022 at 1:31 pmI was messing around with Tony’s banjo picking course and was having fun trying to figure out open G 😅
I’m not real good at finger picking but want to keep trying.
Take care be safe!

I’d say you’re pretty darn good at fingerpicking, from my perspective! Must be that banjo playing experience😄 Can’t help noticing that resonator on the wall behind you – what do you use it to play mostly? I just got one and am working at learning some fingerstyle blues and eventually some slide guitar. Enjoyed your video, look forward to more.

Hey Gerry! Thanks for the encouragement!
I haven’t had the resonator very long but finger style blues and slide is it’s intended purpose. It’s super fun to mess around with but I don’t do it justice yet 😏

Hi @DM1982 and welcome to TAC! I also very much enjoyed watching and listening to your open G improv – very melodic with great movement and flow. I have to agree with the others here – your finger picking looks pretty solid to me! Thanks for posting and sharing with us! 😎🎸🎶
