  • It is well with my soul

I have a throwdown guitar for the grandkids that just recently came back to me from my son’s summer lake house. It is a Korean made Scott SC90N and been around for a decade or more.

But here is some fun with it and it helps me meet my 90 Day Challenge of posting more to get out of my comfort zone. (I don’t believe is numerous takes because that means I’m not really that good unedited and it takes the fun out of it.) I’ve promised @moonhare a South Texas cover and this isnt it either. But it is coming too.

Having FUN is what it’s all about @albert_d 🤩👍 I play for my grandkids too (they are both 19 months) and I love when they come around the guitar I’m playing and touch it to feel the vibrations (just don’t touch the strings when I’m playing). Sometimes they go to the guitars that are on stands and start strumming along. For them, it doesn’t matter how much that guitar costs or if it’s nylon strings or metal – they just love hearing music and appreciate that I’m only paying attention to them when playing – they even applaud when I’m finished – go figure🎸🤘😎

Have to say, albert_d, you always look so relaxed and happy when you’re playing – a great example for folks like me who struggle to overcome frustrations when it’s not going perfectly (which of course it never will be!) I like your attitude about posting your first take, too. When I eventually get brave enough to post anything, it won’t be edited, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be polished with several practice runs first😀

I actually like the Timbre of that old git. It’s got a lovely vintage sound. I agree that is challenging to play the melody over the chords like that. Nice job and well done on the video editing also!
