Texas Winter Storm Guitarathon!
Tue, January 21st. found myself in playing session 23, 3rd week of my 30 day challenge, 1st. Week of fret board wizard and stuck at home because of a winter ice storm here in Texas.
Also, 3 days out of my truck and off the road per tha boss man. I drive a big rig for a living. ( Tanker Yanker)
Now I found myself with lots of time to play but sore fret fingers! 🫣
So the first thing I did was searched the TAC family forum for a solution. 🤔
Thank you Marquita!
She was helping another TAC family member with this issue. This is the website she posted.

First a little Tony disclaimer! 😆
I’m not a Dr. Or play one on TV.
I found this information very helpful. Like Tony’s daily stretch for guitar. You not only need to do them but also know what causes the issues too. There’s alot of miffs out there. The site really broke down the causes and does and don’t when it come to building healthy finger tip pads. Also what really helped me the most was the temporary things you can do to extend your beginning playing while building a healthy pad layer.
Now what worked for me during the last few days was this.
1. Keep playing sessions around 10 min.
2. After playing use a ice cube to sooth your fingertips.
3. Never play with wet or soft fingers. ( Use rubbing alcohol with a Q-Tip to apply on end of fingers, it will dry out the skin.)
WOW!!! IT WORKED!
These last few days I was able to play 3, 10 to 20 minute sessions with 2 to 3 hr breaks in between for 3 days! 🥰 that’s around 1 hr daily without issues.
*** Now keep in mind the technique above with rubbing alcohol is only recommended until yoare able to build a healthy layer and not to be used all the time ***
Being able to play as much as my available time ⏲️ allows is very important to me! Also I’m so thankful to have a support family on TAC ❤
So this is a huge WIN for me as a member of the TAC.
Thank you Tony and family for all you do!
