    Palm muting and dead thumb

    Today’s technique challenge is the first time I’ve tried palm muting.

    What I’m finding is that I’m either putting way too much pressure on the strings (deadening them) or hurting my wrist by trying to play at a weird angle.

    I tried to look up palm muting technique videos – but all of I found were with a pick (which allows the hand to be at a different angle to the strings)

    Can anyone point me to something that gives more info on the ergonomics of this technique?
