I went on Meetup.com and looked for some guitar meetups and found a few in my area. They aren’t TAC related but I’m hoping to go to my first one this weekend. I’m trying to move the needle on the ‘Play with others’ section of my TAC journal!!

@muzzleblaster1 the member section mentioned by @JoeT is a great source to find others near you, and then you could message them to see if they want to jam or know of other groups. I found that you don’t want to just out in your city, because it won’t bring up others within a general radius. Search by state instead and then look, for people near yours. Another fantastic suggestions made by @DiscostewLA was to see if there are any local jam clubs on meetup.com. I found one near me that’s pretty active. I just haven’t had the courage to go yet. Another outlet would be to ask local music shops if they know of any. Good luck!

FYI I went to my first meetup this weekend. Only one other person showed up (the organizer) but it was cool to try and play with someone else for a number of reasons. Lots of social learning and musical learning how to follow someone else, how to find the rhythm of a strumming pattern while muting, etc. etc. Also – I finally learned the main part of “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. I really love that one of the spokes on the TAC Journal wheel is playing with others. It’s so important even though it’s hard to put myself out there and I definitely wouldn’t do it if not for the push from Tony and the being on the TAC journey.
