Ok, COVID ended my current streak. It is how my wife knew I must be really sick. I told her I really wanted to go play, but didn’t have the strength. She knows anything that would cause me not to play must be rough.

Thankfully, after a few days flat on my back, I will be picking up my guitar today. Probably not a long session, but I am in serious withdrawal.

Good news that you survived. Many didn’t and friends and family were lost. And happy you are able to get back on your streak. I had a streak going that was becoming a weight. So at 366 days, I broke it on purpose to let those feathers go as Lil Smokies sing. I still have lengthy runs, but if one is occasionally broken, it’s okay. As long as you get back in the groove, you’re good. Speedy recovery wishes to you.

I agree, it’s okay to interrupt a daily streak. I do try to keep my weekly one intact.

I had nasty COVID twice and felt like my end time had cometh ☠️ at the very start of the pandemic. As many have commented, it was a blessing 😇 to have TAC to pass the time productively when homebound during the worst of it.

This was number 3 for me, and by far the most impactful on my life. Strength was just gone. Not as bad respiratory symptoms though. As a first responder, we were always exposed, so it is easier to count the ones that didn’t get it vs those of us who did.

@Wyatt Glad you’re bouncing back from your bout with COVID. The way I see it, the streak is simply a number. Do you really need it to know that you’re committed to learning and playing guitar. Also, it is absolutely okay to take a break from the guitar to reset yourself, or to deal with illness, family matters etc. I think the streak counter is unfair to those that can’t maintain a consistent routine due to matters outside of their control. I’ve had to break my streak more times than ai can count, because ai was a full time caregiver, had to travel for work, got sick and was unable to practice, had family commitments that had to be honored, or I simply needed a day to myself.Your guitar is patient and will be there for you when you return to it. Take care!

Agreed. I use it as s self motivator. I get bummed when I break it. This time though, I could not even think about going upstairs. It was a metric on how crappy I felt. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Thanks to all. Still feeling weaker than usual, but better and back to playing. Even have to go back to work Monday. Thanks.
