  • Forum Search Issue – Workaround

Posted by sggray1978 on January 17, 2024 at 9:57 pm

You may have noticed an issue with the Forum Search field where every time you key in a character the system performs a search without waiting for you to finish your search term. For example, you want to search on “power” so you key ‘p’ and the search starts immediately, then after waiting for the system to come back you have to type the ‘o’ and wait again to type the ‘w’ and so on. It’s frustrating to say the least. TAC is aware of the issue and says they are working on it.

Until they get it corrected, here’s a workaround:

1.Open a document (Notes, Word, etc.) that you can type into and cut and paste from.

    2. Type your entire search term – power, for example.

    3. Cut or copy the search term to the clipboard (CTRL-C or Command-C).

    4. Go back to the Forum Search bar and paste the clipboard contents into it (CTRL-V or Command-C). The search will be forced to use the whole search term and you should get the results you are looking for.

Hope this is helpful. If you need help reach out.

Thanks for the tip. It is a bright temporary solution.

You’re very welcome. That IT background finally provided me with something besides a paycheck. 🙂

Thanks @sggray1978 ; I know the platform issues are distracting. But, Tony still has the best teaching method available and the best site based on those methods. My opinion, of course.

I don’t disagree, if I did I’d go somewhere else. I’m counting on them to get the issues corrected. It’s not in their best interest to allow that kind of stuff to distract from the teaching method, which as you said, is the best around.

      Play on brother!
