  • 12-string string question.

Question for anyone who plays a 12-string: If you break one of a string pair (the higher G in this case) do you find it better to replace both of the paired strings or just the one that’s broken? This is in a situation where the string set is new, and one popped due to operator error.

Don’t know the answer as I don’t have a 12 String, but I can relate to “Operator Error”.

Hi @Badgerbanshee If the strings are new, just the one but if old, do both. I’ve played 12 strings for many years. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice Marty73. That’s what I’ll do.

Same as Marty here. Age of the string dictates.
