This was my very first album as a kid. I absolutely love this song. Great job!

I know @Loraine Glenn C songs are great. The original had so much going on that I didnt have. So I made a campfire unplugged version. Some were not happy that it was not a clone rendition. But the overwhelming majority were good with it. Nice to know I didnt miss the mark. Thanks for listening in and commenting.

Great song. I understand that Jimmy Webb wrote this song after being asked by Glen Campbell to follow up on By the Time I get to Phoenix. Very few songs have successful follow up songs. Jimmy supposedly got the inspiration while driving l long stretch through Oklahoma and seeing a lone lineman working at the top of a pole and imagined the lineman talking to his girlfriend.
