“Horse With No Name” or a “simile” thereof
Posted by petelanger on August 25, 2024 at 2:04 pmFinally bumbled my way through my cover song ever. Despite my scared look I had a lot of fun practicing for and recording this.

I would be appropriate for your first ride to be a song about a horse. Enjoy the first of many rides along your guitar journey. And such a good song.

Great job getting your first one recorded. That’s the hard one. Look forward to many more.

Yes, I believe the first one is a hurdle! I already feel more confident about doing more.

@langerking Woohoo! So glad you pushed past your fear. You will continue to grow each time you put yourself out there.
You did great. You became more confident as you went along. Great wrist action on strumming hand. You were transitioning well and became more confident with your capability as you played. The fact the you can put vocals to playing is a great feat. Singing and playing are challenging, but you knew the song well and performed very well.
Keep up the great work. I look forward to more recordings and watching up you grow on your journey!.

Well done Peter and congratulations on your first post! Really well done and such a great tune…I was playing along with you:) Keep em coming brother

Thanks! I know it’s not very good… my fingers still don’t do what my brain tells ’em to, which makes the voice crack and fade. But I got thru it, so WIN!

Oh now I remember you Braden: “Wish You Were Here (Sid)!”
How are things in the Great White North? Keep that ‘Floyd coming, bro!
One day I’d like to record “Dogs”! – I’ve had the lyrics memorized since ’78 but it’s way out of reach with 3 tough barre chords and 10 other chords to worry about.

All good in the GWN thanks! Hope your days going good! Hot and humid in Ontario today with thunder on the horizon…like you probably, grew up loving Pink Floyd…Waters is such a good songwriter and Gilmour plays a mean guitar…definitely part of my soundtrack:) Ive been working on Mother for awhile but havent tackled the solo yet…i dont think its too difficult but very powerful…will try get it to a “postable” level lol. thanks for reaching out Rick and keep on enjoying your music and playing your guitar:)
