  • Dead…… or Alive? Small Win…

Posted by Tricia_Lynn on January 1, 2025 at 8:18 pm

I was having a heck of a time trying to do the intro piece for Dead or Alive. I didn’t think I would ever be able to get that first part with the finger picking and then the last F, F mute, D…. My small win is that I was able to finally get through the whole intro! I timed the first go thru on just the finger picking (or first part) of the intro and it was 28 seconds. The last time I went through it was 38 seconds for the whole 2 parts. I know its still slow, but damnit I made it through the whole thing at a decent pace w no errors. LOL 🙂 Go me! I found that the best way to finger pick on that one (for me) is the pic/finger hybrid Tony shared with us.

I am GEEKED! lol… No one can tell me I am not a rock star at the moment. HA!

Believing you are a rock star MAKES you a rock star. Forward and onward!

(Sister Act II – Girl, if you believe you a singer, then you a singer!) One of my favorite lines. 🙂

Are you talking about what Tony named “Sambora Sweetness”? This is something I play multiple times per week. But only the run from the 14th fret down to the first, I do it with and without the pick, all kinds of variations. At some point I need to add on the rest of the intro. LOL!

    Congrats on your win!

Yes, I play that part and the several other parts of the song from that week. LOL… I love it.
