Only in day three of the 30 day challenge. Averaging 45-60 mins a day twice a day . I’m 66 and retired . It’s been a goal of mine to learn to play . The blues lessons are fun and challenging. I haven’t mastered them yet to do the summary or song but I’m progressing. Still have to look were I’m at on the neck going from 5 fret to 9 and to d . . That’s my goal this week is to play those lessons without looking at the strings .

Fingers crossed the old dog is learning new tricks. . lol

@pbisharkgmail-com Welcome to the TAC community!! You sound like you’re having fun and doing well. None of the lessons are meant to be perfected. It is all about progressing and continuous movement forward. You will get better just by doing a minimum 10 minutes a day on a regular schedule.

I love hearing the stories of others that are just starting their guitar journey in their older years (not elder). You can do it. It is a process, and it takes time. Keep having fun, and don’t be a stranger in the forums.

Welcome aboard! Do your best every day, don’t expect perfection, and stick with it! The wins will come, often in unexpected ways. You may have a frustrating day where you feel like you aren’t making music and then suddenly find yourself using a hammer on or chord embellishment or something you couldn’t do before in a song you are just strumming after practice. Favorite the lessons that really click for you, and come back to them. Favorite the ones you just can’t do at all and revisit them after a couple weeks when you have some extra time. Stick with it and have fun!

Hi Bob! I’m 74, another old dog. I’m having fun; it’s kinda nice to be old enough to let go of getting good. My goal is to learn something new and amuse myself. Enjoy!

I hear that . I very competitive with myself and always have been. So it’s a little frustrating to have to go back and study cords as I’m having difficulty Among cord changes even with them in front of me. Also strumming watching to get it doing it is another thing . I try I got just get y skill up on cords and changing between A D and E. .’o. E my buddy ones back home I plant have him come over and help me . He’s bed playing all his life I know that will help as well
