Well, still vertical, air is going in&out, and my socks are the same color.

I’ve been really busy but have still had some time to play guitar. I think I focus quite a bit on writing my own tunes– (maybe at the expense of actually putting in the work of getting better at guitar

But writing songs is something that I really enjoy; just messing with them/ changing them/ tinkering with all the moving parts…… I bet I usually change a song at least 50 times before I post it — (and even then, still think of it as “a work in progress”). To me, it’s the changing and tinkering that is really fun. I actually do think I learn quite a bit doing that.

I still check in here in TAC, and also JMG, all the time….. There are all the really great folks in both spots—– so friendly and helpful!

But—- it is always great to see you and read all your posts— (because you will always be a part of my guitar-journey….. going way back to when I first joined TAC….. (all those years ago)…

Wow! This guys both a virtuoso and bit of a shredder! Thanks for posting. If I play every day until I’m 80, maybe I’ll be……No, forget about it – As MC Hammer said “You can’t touch this!”

@JTSchrock I don’t believe we’ve spoken before, so I’m very happy you commented. We all need these inspirations.

Awesome! I briefly dabbled in guitar when I was twenty, I took it up again at 44, 7 months ago this weekend. I often wonder where I’d be if I had stuck with it for the last 25 years. I can’t control that, but I can stick with it for the next 25 if I make it that long!

If only … I think and say things like that about so many things. But, sometimes I can be discouraged when I do that. My immediate thoughts will always go to the negative, and I beat myself up for not having stuck with something. I have to force myself to try to stay in the moment and just enjoy the now. In hindsight, I’m not sure I would have stuck with trying to learn the guitar when I was younger. I was too busy running to where I thought the grass would be greener, but my sorry ass always went with me, so I was doomed. It wasn’t until the last few years that I decided to do things for me and simply be content in the moment (hopefully).

Thanks Stevie – I hope I still have my mental faculties at that age.
