  • When should I mark complete and move on?

Posted by Thomas R on July 3, 2025 at 3:19 pm

I’m new to TAC and still trying to come to grips with when to move on to the next challenge. I’m not a beginning guitar player to I progressed fairly quickly through the 30 day challenge and 5 day routine. I think that maybe I should at least be able to play a challenge at 60 bpm even if not mistake free. When do you guys decide to hit the complete button and move forward? I have been going back and practicing previous challenges but I sense a person could really fall behind if they are struggling with a particular challenge. Thanks!!!

Welcome to the TAC community! TAC is a program that teaches foundational skills that can then be used in a multitude of songs. The philosophy is progress over perfection. You’ll want to continually move forward. That is why we preach 10 minutes minimum per day. Go through a daily challenge, and after 10 minutes, mark it complete. You can still work on it, if you like, but don’t let it hold you up. It’s not about perfection. If you follow this practice, you will progress a d get better. The lessons rotate back around every several months. You’ll have a chance to see how far you e progressed when they do. They’ll be easier to pick up and work each time.
