  Joining the community for the 1st time

  Hello everyone, my name is Ronan, originally from the Aran Islands of the west coast of Ireland in beautiful Galway Bay, I’m hoping by joining that it will keep me accountable, My favorite style of guitar is finger style, John Hurt is a big influence as is Lightning Hopkins Revered Gary Davis, I also like Arty Mcglyn and Paul Brady, these are just a few of my heroes,my hope is that with your help and encouragement my guitar may sing out in Galway, at the moment I’m living in Milton MA I’m 67 years .

  I have been to the Aran Islands. What a wonderful and unique place. Welcome to TAC and your guitar journey. You are in the best place for relaxing and enjoying to learn to play through consistency and structure. I have found great joy in my slow but steady progress. You will too.

  Ronan, welcome to the TAC community! You have some great influencers there. I really wish I could play finger style, and I’m envious of those that can. I have essential tremors in my hands it makes it very difficult. But I would love to hear you play sometime. You have the right idea and making yourself accountable. When you commit yourself to commenting or playing for others, you actually increase your knowledge skills and abilities and you do become accountable and a better player.

  Welcome aboard! I love the same style, I think Mississippi John Hurt is my favorite. He gives me the impression that he is a genuinely kind and calm man, like the Bob Ross of the blues! Gary Davis is amazing too. I can’t wait to hear you play some blues!
