What are you trying to learn today ? There really isn’t a lesson that I’ve come across that you are supposed to learn in 1 day. The lessons repeat over the years … depending on where you are on your guitar journey, you try to learn what you can. If you perfect it right off the bat in 1 day, you can probably start giving lessons !! The Friday challenge, I was able to get the Am chord with the pull off and the triplet, but I can’t yet transition smoothly to any of the other chords. It takes time. The whole idea is to make a little bit of progress every day.

It was a great answer that was given by @gmhendersonme-com .
First welcome to TAC! When I first started playing, I had never had any experience with the guitar. I felt very out overwhelmed at the beginning, especially once I started the daily challenges however, I was taught early on that Tony teaches progress over perfection. If you practice a minimum of 10 minutes per day. You will get better if you practice a little bit more than that the same as true there is also a point where if you practice too much, you will not improve so it basically is take things in little chunks and they compile and help you to improve in advance in progress on your journey.
Many of the lessons do repeat, and that is so that you have a point of reference to measure your progress. This specifically refers to the quarterly progress lessons to measure exactly that.
I think many join to learn guitar and think that they’ll quickly be able to learn and be able to play their favorite songs. Some people do have a natural talent or have prior experience or have experience with other instruments so they understand a lot of the theory behind playing the guitar. A great example would be someone that was a piano player because the keys on the piano match the keys and scales on a guitar fretboard. However, that isn’t the norm. Guitar is a challenging instrument to learn, but it’s not impossible and if you stick around long enough for the magic to happen where things begin to click and become easier, then you will experience a joy like none other.

Do you really want it to be fast and easy? If it was, everybody would be doin’ it, and then, you would not be able to quietly… to yourself… enjoy the pride that you get when a tough task is accomplished— one that not everybody can do?
Always– always– remember that it’s not about the destination…. it’s about the journey. When the Griswolds finally reached WallyWorld—- the very best parts of the movie…… were over.
So I have to repeat that, just for “effect”— It’s not about the destination…. it’s about the journey.
My advice is to be cool. Relax. Enjoy all the little moments— and all the help, advice, encouragement, and great friends that you will meet right here.
Your brain can only take-in so much/ so fast. Enjoy the “slow” part of it– (it really is the best part).

@the-old-coach so true! And, if you could do these challenges immediately, what does that say? To me it says that it wasn’t challenging and/or I didn’t learn anything.
@ur1260web-de @billsandbeaks56gmail-com we are people wanting to learn guitar just like you. We’ve been here a bit longer so we’re a bit more familiar with the program but we aren’t paid promoters trying to coax you. We hate to see people give up because their expectations are unrealistic and we want everyone to have fun playing guitar like we are but that’s the extent of it. We’re not gaining by you staying here besides being able to chat with you here.

Ahhhhh, yes…… “expectations”…… I defer to the quote-master— Jumpin’Jeff- (author of the single best quote about expectations– in the history of the world).
-
I much prefer to be tangled up in blue than anchored with expectation. : )

Hey @petelanger : I was thinking about what you said….I may have learned as much in the chats as I did from Tony…..the chats worked out and directly supported the meat of the challenge material. 50/50 split…maybe….close anyways.
-
@jumpinjeff for sure! The community has a lot to offer!I wasn’t saying the chats have no value, only that we’re students of guitar and we aren’t getting referral points or whatever. I was sensing pushback from some of the new members and just wanted to make the point there are no affiliates in the forum, we’re just here trying to help.

Thanks for your help folks, think I have the system figured out now. I was trying to figure out how I was to accomplish what was shown each day. Now I see from you that is not the target, but to get whatever you can from each lesson. Makes feel a lot better and more comfortable. Thanks again
