Lake Marie – John Prine cover
Posted by Braden on March 24, 2026 at 12:10 pmHi everyone. Here’s a favourite John Prine song that tells the story of a young couple who met at a very special place. They went on to get married but that special place was ruined for them in a big way, and then never the same. I read an interview with John where he explains the history behind the song and its being somewhat autobiographical as he grew up in the area around Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Some fun…RIP Mr Prine…thanks for watching and hope you like it:)

Hey Braden – really great job on this. Still super impressed with the harmonica rig and playing. I think I’d hyperventilate and pass out on my guitar. Lovely guitar too! Rock on and hope you’re doing well!

Really accurate rendition. You captured that John Prine vibe. COVID took him too early, but I love his body of work. Thanks.

Thanks a lot @albert_d Really appreciate the supportive comments brother. Ive been a John Prine fan all my adult life but the cool thing is I still keep finding songs Ive never heard before! So sad that Covid took him after he beat cancer and was rejuvinating his career. But I thank God he left us with all those tunes
