Anybody else disenchanted with the search function?
The forum has a treasure trove of wisdom in it since so many questions have been asked! Unfortunately the responses are for the most part forever lost because it’s darn near impossible to search for them. So many new people are confused about what’s next, how to find this or that and improved searchability would make accessing resources so much easier. There’s no “Frequently Asked Questions” tab or page, that would be the first thing I would add to the TAC site.
And the forum is the only place that allows you search at all. Oh you can filter members by city, state and country or sort them alphabetically or chronologically. But you can’t search by a username. And this forum search is very limited: from my experience only 1 word searches are possible. For the most part, if you don’t have a thing favorited, you’re pretty much out of luck finding it. On occasion I’ve resorted to going page by page through My forum discussions and replies. This is very tedious and at times very painful because of the site speed issue.
I really wish the site was more set up like a Knowledgebase. How cool would it be if you could search on member questions to the community and to support?

I completely aggree! Though the coumunity is very supportive navigating and finding something you know is here is near impossible. I’ve even been suggested to clear my cache, or just get a new pc. Come on man!

I agree Pete! Being able to search a multitude of ways (first name, last name, user name, city, state, current members, versus no longer have subscription, expanded keyword(s) along with another search function, lessons, instruments, challenges, skills, song names, dates, years. Open to jams, open to meet ups in other cities, interests, genres, etc.

My disappointment lies more with the instructional end of things but I agree it would be nice to have the same drilldown capabilities in the members area as well, @Loraine

I am definitely not a techie and am very average or below average on computers. I think a lot of seniors would agree that making it easier to find different items would come in handy.

Just to tag onto that thought – It would be nice to have a searchable TAB’s page with all the scales. As I work through different scales I try to keep the Adobe chart open, but once I close it, it can be super hard to get back to.
Unless this already exists – if so, could someone point me to it? 😉

I save all TABs into Microsoft OneNote. I have all the TAB sheets (including the Wednesday scales) saved to my cloud folders. I usually TAC from my my laptop, but I can pull up any tab on one of my tablets or my phone no matter where I am. The notes are searchable of course.
