Our High School local band was known as The Shy Guys and they wore white Nehru Jackets with a black light and would play Knights in White Satin. We all thought they were so with it for Clovis, NM. You took me back there.

I think the song is actually “Nights in White Satin”.
I remember reading on the internet about a time in the early sixties when the Moody Blues were the hot act and the Beatles were aspiring newcomers. It mentioned a guy with the BBC who expressed that the Moody Blues were the far superior group. I’ve been searching for the quote but without luck.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a huge Beatles fan, so yes the Moody blues are much better musicians!

Love the Beatles, not because they were the best musicians ever, although they were all really good. Paul could play just about anything (guitar, bass, drums, piano, and…) and played guitar right or left handed, he could switch to show his right handed buddy John stuff.
Their song writing acumen was other worldly, and they pioneered the whole rock group thing, all the acts that followed them were largely huge fans that saw what was possible.
