I recently began going back to virtual open mics that I used to be a fixture in. It had been a couple of years, and it felt really good to be playing with others again, the talk, laughter and of course the playing.

If you haven’t gone to one, you might consider looking into them. You can find them on Meetup, other guitar forums, etc. I’d be happy to introduce those interested to a few. Some are even offshoots from the old TAC. I don’t like to advertise openly on Tony’s site, because this is for learning foundational skills and his baby. Out of courtesy to him, I’d be happy to talk to anyone interested. Just shoot me a message by going to the top right and clicking the down arrow by your profile image and click on messages. Then just shoot me a personal message.

Open mics are not just for those that are well versed in performing. I couldn’t play a lick for the life of me, and I was not a great player or singer, but the open mics are what pushed me to learn more. The other players are also very generous. If necessary, I’ll start a virtual open mic (\VOM) just for beginner/intermediates, just so you don’t feel intimidated. But first, visit some of the VOMS that can be found all over the country and world. They’re a lot of fun.

You should start a TAC open mic. We could possibly play some of the benchmark songs together. I bet Tony wouldn’t mind at all, and would probably be very supportive of this.
