   I absolutely love this tune and have been working on Mike Whitehead’s version for quite a long time. That’s the version (from the 1994 Walnut Valley flatpicking championship in Winfield, KS) that I tried to play at ALF 2018 and that I recently posted in the community forum. I had a lotof fun with this and because of my familiarity with the tune, I seemed to get it “under my fingers” in just a couple hours. Yee Haw!

   We play this one at our weekly fiddle jam all the time. It’s fun to play on guitar. One thing strikes me… The fiddlers play this song at warp speed, twice as fast as it is here.

   I don’t know what it was about this song, but it was very elusive for me. I persevered and uploaded a video, but I wasn’t that happy with the final result. It’s a step forward though and I’m grateful for that.
