    Without knowing all the parameters I would guess it was your instructors setup causing the echo.

    Questions that need to be asked.

    Did the echo go away if your Instructor was muted?

    Who heard the Echo – Just you or Both?

    One way to look at it is you, speak and it goes out zoom If another open mic hears your voice it will transmit it down zoom again. If your open mic hears it twice it will transmit it again.
