The main factor that made me join TAC was the potential to establish a regular guitar routine – and it has certainly helped me do that over the last year. However, the great community I found at TAC was an essential element which helped me to maintain my routine, because being part of the community was really fun and pushed me to stretch myself and get out of my comfort zone – and so I was motivated to become a ‘lifer’. Now I feel pretty short-changed – the community seems to be disintegrating, the site is so slow and the forums are so clunky in their new format that I feel pretty disengaged – in fact, since the new site opened, I think the Community Support forum is virtually the only one I’ve visited, other than hunting around to find the VOM links.
As a ‘lifer’, I can’t vote with my feet, but I fear that my engagement with TAC may simply become a somewhat monotonous round of the daily challenges and little else. Right now, I can’t find the enthusiasm to attend any of the events like the monthly guitar party, because if I have to listen to any false bonhomie about the wonderful new website, I will probably throw my laptop across the room ……
