    Have no fear @[email protected] , it will get better with patients and practice. Remember the saying, “Rome was not built in a day”. The G chord is a good hard stretch of the fingers for a beginner. A couple of things to think about when fretting the G chord: 1) Palm position of the fretting hand – try moving your palm forward around the neck (toward the floor) to create more arch in the fingers. (If you move your palm so that all 4 of your fretting fingers can touch the low E string – then you’ll have moved it forward). The whole idea is to create arch of the fingers so the fingertips can land directly onto the notes to be fretted for that chord without touching other strings. 2) Fingernail length on the fretting hand. If your nails are too long, then they’ll prevent your fingertips from fretting the intended notes, prevent proper arch and make contact with other unintended strings causing muted sound.
