Congrats on finding out what works for you at this point in your journey. Welcome to TAC. I have been in it a little over 2 years. It has helped me a lot.
It is probably better to use lighter picks when starting out because of
the give. It took time before I was able to use the medium and some
heavy picks well, when at first I couldn’t. Looking at, trying, and
getting new equipment as you journey along (including picks), is part of
the fun. It’s such an individual preference. I have settled on two I like the most. The Dava Guitar Picks Control Nylon (about a .8 or .9, giving sturdiness with a little give); or the DuraGrip 1mm; stiffer than the Dava, but not too heavy. For me, the comfort and feel I like; but also a great tone.
It’s fun to experiment with different picks; and amazed me the difference in feel and sound as I have played around with them. Good luck in your venture!
