@Philb that’s a nice little amp for $25 (I was able to see the photos). Yes, so for me, it’s mic & guitar plug into the AI, which plugs into the computer and has to run through some software before it gives an output. I can control the input, but not the volume of the live output – very frustrating. The AI does have direct output ports and my brother-in-law gave me some speakers, but I haven’t fooled around with it since to see if that would work. I’m not very “tech savvy” and so for me, the iPhone works fine – I don’t need all this other stuff, besides, the guitar I play 99.99% of the time doesn’t have a pick-up, so I have to use the same mic for vocals and sound – so what’s the point of fooling around with that stuff anyways? I do have to say that my brother-in-law gave me a small mic and stand to use for the guitar, but I’d already given up on the AI.

Yes, I know the point is “leveling the vocals and guitar” – which has worked great for you (your video is proof of that), and for you it can be done simply, thanks to the amp you have and the mic input it contains. Lesson learned for me, find an amp that has a separate channel for a mic – no AI needed, just MHO.

Phil, I have to say that I believe the way you used your equipment has really enhanced the quality of your performance. And you said it yourself, by leveling the vocals and guitar, you could concentrate more on tone and staying on key when singing and not worry about singing too loud. Big kudos to you Phil👏👏👏 I think you’ve come onto a “breakthrough” moment with your journey🎸🤘👍
